  • During our initial assessment we will cover all the variables related to you and your goals (extensive questionnaire and consultation, measurements of heart rate, blood pressure, bodyfat percentage and movement screening).

  • Based on our initial assessment, I will create a nutrition regime that suits your lifestyle and goals and step by step teach you how to take control of your weight. You will never have to ‘live off a strict meal plan’ again.

  • Depending on our movement assessment and goals we have defined, I will create an exercise regime, teach you how to train safely and effectively whilst replacing myths with facts.

  • To ensure you are progressing optimally and identify when adjustments need to be made, we will repeat reliable measurement methods during our frequent progress assessments.

  • I will be checking upon you, keep you accountable and provide you with support that goes beyond our training sessions to ultimately help you in developing the skills in managing and maintaining your health independently.

The Nutrition Fallacy

Losing weight is pretty simple: don’t eat. Unfortunately, this only works for a limited period of time before your cravings get so huge that you binge it back up (classic yo-go dieting). Often coaches hand out a simple meal plan which they would never follow themselves and wait to take a picture and share their “amazing work”, which you then get exposed to on Social Media.

Keeping your weight off long-term, though, is a different story. Only 1 out of 6 is able to sustain the lost weight after 1 year and on average, half of the lost weight is regained after one year (Kraschnewski et al., 2010). I’ve seen it happen over and over again and I’m sick of it. Keeping off the weight actually requires a professional whose goal is to make you independent of him/her.

The Training Fallacy

Next time you’re training at a gym, have a look around how people exercise over there, i.e. observe how hard they train and what kind of exercises they do.

You might notice that they often don’t train smart/hard ‘enough’, which we have published a paper about. Why does this matter? Well, if you train below a meaningful intensity-threshold with exercises that are not effective, your training has little to no impact on your health and physique and instead, you are basically wasting your time, money and miss out on valuable benefits that exercising can actually offer.

We get exposed to fancy exercises on Social Media and a way of training that looks good on camera and gets a lot of views, but unfortunately, don’t do much in terms of the impact on your health and physique. The Aging Fallacy

How often have you heard or thought: “ah, I’m just getting old…”. Well, the older you get, the more you will inevitably be confronted with these thoughts. People often blame ageing to be the main reason for a deterioation of both physical and mental health, decrepitude, incapacity, increases in physical complaints, loss of life quality and loss of independency.

Fortunately, correlation does not imply causality. We all get older, but changes in behaviors and lifestyles as we age are more likely to cause such effects. Elderly tend to move and exercise less and often have poor overall diets, which combined accelerate the mentioned phenomenons observed ‘with ageing’ (Cunningham et al., 2020) and not ‘because of ageing’. You could actually replace many visits to the doctor and physiotherapist by choosing to exercise and following a balanced diet. I will help you in setting you up for a healthy future.

The fact that I am a natural bodybuilder does’t mean that you need to be and I will never impose my own goals on you which, unfortunately, happens everywhere as this fitness industry has massively shifted from real-value to a toxic over-marketed wild-west, where many are competing for the best “instagram moment”.

Instead, we can utilize valuable lessons from bodybuilding such as developing discipline and consistency to get where we want to be in life.
